SDLP Chief Colum Eastwood has paid tribute to Jim Fitzpatrick’s life and legacy following information of his passing.
Mr Fitzpatrick died on Saturday after a brief sickness.
He was aged 93.
Stated the Foyle MP: “Jim Fitzpatrick was one of many giants of stories in Eire. “His contribution to the lifetime of our island, as a lawyer, businessman and thru the Irish Information, has been immense.
“A devoted and unwavering democratic nationalist, he held agency in opposition to using violence within the promotion of any trigger.
“Jim lived for and beloved his household, particularly his late spouse Alice, and their kids who he was so pleased with.
“Our ideas are with the Fitzpatrick household at this time.
